Ordering tips
Weight. For a performance net, I like about 50g of it on 8 ft (2.1m) poles. Lighter is better if you plan to use it all the time. Heavier is best for occasional dramatic accents. They’re hefty! You have to pace yourself.
Mesh size. I usually recommend a 2.75″ mesh. If the wind quits you can still get some action, with a little work. If you can rely on plenty of wind, 2.5″ can be better. Smaller meshes make denser clouds of foam, but are a chore without wind.
Materials. The Ella Rae bamboo/wool performs best but wears faster than the others. Color options are limited. It’s going extinct.
Next best is the Valley cotton/bamboo. Works great. More durable.
Tahki is a high quality 100% mercerized cotton. The most durable option. Needs a little breaking in before reaching peak performance.
Artiste 100% cotton is a little lighter than the others. It’s more suited to finer mesh nets for consistently high winds, and stage effects with artificial wind. Very durable.
